Effective October 22, 2026

The short version. My videos, website, newsletter, calculator and ebooks share what has worked for me and what the research says. They’re general information for adults, not medical advice and not a program designed for you. Check with your doctor before you start, and stop if something feels wrong.

Who I am

Ripped Seniors is run by me, Joe Burjoski, a retired software developer in Ontario, Canada. I’m not a doctor, physiotherapist, registered dietitian or certified personal trainer. I share my own experience and summarize published research, and I tell you where it comes from.

Not medical advice

Nothing from Ripped Seniors is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, or a substitute for care from a qualified professional who knows your health. Don’t delay or ignore professional advice because of something you saw here.

Check with your doctor first

Talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise, nutrition or supplement routine, especially if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, a joint replacement, recent surgery or injury, or you haven’t exercised in a long time.

Stop and get help if you notice

  • Chest pain, pressure or tightness
  • Unusual shortness of breath
  • Dizziness, light-headedness or fainting
  • A racing or irregular heartbeat
  • Sharp, sudden or worsening pain

If it might be an emergency, call 911.

Exercise carries risk

All physical activity carries some risk of injury. You decide which exercises to do and how hard to push. Use sound equipment, learn the technique, start lighter than you think you need, and stay within your limits. You take responsibility for your own safety when you exercise.

The Belly Fat Calculator

The calculator gives estimates based on general formulas, such as waist-to-height ratio. It isn’t a diagnosis and may not be accurate for you. Don’t use it to make medical decisions. If you’re pregnant, or have a condition that affects your weight, fluid or body composition, its results won’t apply to you.

Nutrition and supplements

Any nutrition or supplement information is general. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking a supplement, because some interact with medications or aren’t safe with certain conditions.

Results vary

My results, and any examples or stories I share, aren’t typical or guaranteed. Yours will depend on your health, history, effort and many other factors.

Affiliate links and sponsorships

Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. I only recommend gear I’ve used myself. If a video or email is sponsored, I’ll say so clearly.

Copyright

The videos, articles, guides, ebooks, images and calculator are my original work, protected by Canadian and international copyright law. You’re welcome to share links and to quote short excerpts with credit. Please don’t copy, re-upload, redistribute or sell my content, including free and paid guides, without my written permission. I link to other websites for your convenience. I don’t control them and I’m not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

No guarantees

I work hard to keep content accurate and up to date, but research changes and mistakes happen. Content is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Ripped Seniors and I aren’t liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, any Ripped Seniors content, the calculator or linked products. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

How I handle personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
